Corporate
SubHub has received equity funding from Finance Wales and from various business angels. It also has received numerous grants and loans from the Welsh Assembly Government, Cardiff Council and its founders. The company has raised more than $1.2 million to date. Founders Miles Galliford and Evan Rudowski are the company’s largest individual shareholders.
Miles came to the entrepreneurial start-up world from BT, where for three years he worked in the Internet mergers, acquisition and joint ventures team, responsible for identifying and completing deals with US new media companies such as Excite; Inktomi; News International; Commerce One and Netcentives.
Before founding SubHub Miles was a director of two Internet start-ups which continue to prosper today, one in the content aggregation business for the insurance and auction sectors (www.invaluable.com) and the other a spin-off from Cambridge University providing intelligent search solutions (www.transversal.com).
Miles has a degree in Business Studies and an MBA from the European School of Management in Paris.
Evan Rudowski began his career in the mid-1980s at Newsday and New York Newsday, where he helped develop and launch some of the earliest online newspaper efforts in the United States. Subsequently he was business development manager at News Corporation’s iGuide Internet venture in New York.
From 1998 through 2001 Evan was managing director of Excite Europe. Before moving to the UK, he ran Excite’s City.net travel service, turning it into the number one travel site on the web.
Evan earned his Masters degree in 1993 from the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He earned his B.A. in Communication Arts in 1986 from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.
Actively involved with 'all things web' for the past 13 years, Mark's experience is wide and varied.
Having started his career in 1997, as a lecturer in Internet Authoring at Teesside University, Mark moved on to undertake a number of roles within Tui, the world's largest travel company, including managing interactive digital TV R&D and later, website development management for all 'late availability holiday' brands.
Before joining SubHub, Mark ran HostCymru, a Welsh website development and hosting company.
Mark now heads up our marketing activity, which he describes as a 'hugely enjoyable, hair raising and challenging role'.
Mark has a BSc (Hons) degree in Media Technology from Teesside University. He lives in Cardiff Bay and loves old school US hiphop, much to his collegues annoyance. He also has an irrational fear of cotton wool!
